Source Technology

Quantum optics textbooks usually categorised light into three different kinds according to the photon statistics it exhibits: chaotic or thermal light (light emitted by incandescent lamps for example), coherent light (light emitted by lasers), and deterministic single-photons or sub-poissonian light (systems capable of emitting one and only one photon at a time).

Like the incandescent lamp or the laser beforehand, it is expected that the discovery and development of single-photon sources will unlock an unprecedented number of new technologies and applications.

Nu Quantum is a global pioneer: one of the first companies world-wide developing a commercial single-photon source. Moreover, our devices operate at room temperature and have the future capability of fitting multiple on a chip.
